Harvard Business Review Article Highlights Benefits and Growth of PACE

On June 15, 2023, The Harvard Business Review published an article showcasing the benefits of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The article cites a case study of PACE Southeast Michigan that demonstrates “how PACE successfully delivers individualized, home-centered care to poor older adults while lowering overall costs” and describes how PACE improves quality of life.

WASHINGTON, DC – Earlier today, U.S. Reps. Brad Wenstrup, MD, (R-OH) and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR-3) and U.S. Sens. Tom Carper (D-DE) and Bill Cassidy, MD, (R-LA) introduced the PACE Part D Choice Act, which would eliminate a significant financial disincentive for Medicare-only beneficiaries to enroll in Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

“Everyone deserves a fair choice when it comes to health care, and we must ensure that access to this choice is affordable,” said Sen. Carper. “The PACE Part D Choice Act would give seniors the option to choose a cost-efficient plan that will provide them with the care they need.”

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) this week visited AllCare PACE, the newest Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly in the state. AllCare serves older adults in Jackson and Josephine counties. Oregon State Rep. Lily Morgan (R-Grants Pass) accompanied Sen. Wyden in touring the PACE center.

Debbie Dingell (D-MI-12) and Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). They led a Senior Town Hall at the day center to hear concerns of older adults, share updates on home- and community-based services (HCBS), and answer questions during Medicare open enrollment.
