Position Summary
As a Registered Dietitian, you will provide exceptional nutrition care and education to our participants. You will assess their nutritional needs, develop and implement personalized care plans, and collaborate with our dedicated Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure comprehensive care. Your expertise will empower our participants to thrive while managing therapeutic diets, monitoring clinical indicators, and supporting their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct initial and ongoing nutrition assessments; develop and implement tailored care plans for participants.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Actively participate in IDT meetings, communicate nutrition status, and contribute to care planning.
- Participant Support: Provide education to participants and families regarding dietary needs, therapeutic diets, and nutrition support.
- Therapeutic Diet Management: Oversee texture modifications, food allergies, and other diet restrictions based on physician orders.
- Nutrition Monitoring: Evaluate meal intake, diet compliance, and the effectiveness of interventions both on-site and at home.
- Community Liaison: Coordinate home nutrition services and collaborate with external agencies such as Meals on Wheels, SNFs, and ALFs.
- Mentorship: Support the growth of dietetic interns and medical students through mentoring.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
- Licensure: Completion of an accredited dietetic internship and registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Experience: Minimum one year working with elderly or long-term care populations.
- Certifications: Current CPR and ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities with a commitment to compassion, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

Requirements
- Reliable transportation, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and car insurance.
- Must be 18 years or older and fully vaccinated against specified communicable diseases.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, sit, push, and pull for extended periods.
- Must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
