AltaMed PACE Opens First Alternative Care Setting in Compton, CA

AltaMed Health Services has opened its first Alternative Care Setting (ACS) in Compton, CA, to provide participants enrolled in AltaMed PACE with an additional place to access services closer to home.

The nearly 10,000-square foot facility is the first PACE location in the city and will serve up to 150 area residents. AltaMed PACE held a grand opening celebration for the community on Dec. 9 with food, entertainment, raffle prizes and facility tours.

The new facility provides on-site skilled nursing care and features a spacious day floor for recreational and social activities, exercise classes, arts and crafts, meals and nutrition counseling, cultural celebrations and educational programs. Participants also have access to a physical and occupational therapy room.

One of the largest PACE providers in the country, AltaMed serves almost 4,700 participants across 11 centers in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Four additional ACS facilities will open in the coming months in Southeast Los Angeles, bringing the total number of locations to 16.
