WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Performs delegated patient care activities as directed by the RN or medical staff upon completion of documented training, in a manner that is aligned with age specific needs of the patient to ensure safe, accurate and high-quality treatment of patients.
- Documentation of patient care.
- Participate in organization, cleaning and safety of unit.
- Maintains unit supplies, prepares patient rooms and medical records, enters charges, and answers the multi-line telephone to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the unit.
- Answers questions about treatment plan within the expected scope or refers questions to RN.
- Make rounds and respond promptly to patient requests. Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED - Required
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) American Heart Association- Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Required OR
- Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) - Required OR
- Franciscan Patient Care Assistant Program (FPCAP) - Required
- 1 Year of previous Healthcare Clinical Experience- Required
- 1 Year patient care with frail/elderly in an in-patient nursing or home health setting- Preferred
